Digital Compost

At Digital Compost, we make digital and physical games and game media. We’re curious about how play brings people together, and what happens when an idea wanders beyond the screen into a story, an object, or a place we can share.

We think of this as transmedium play. A world might begin in a game, but it doesn’t have to stay there. It can grow through different media, with each new form giving people another way to explore it and bring something of their own.

Through that play, we want to create what we call fourth places: shared spaces where physical and digital life meet. Places that people return to for the company as much as the game, where there’s room to belong, experiment, and imagine together.

That’s what nurturing new play means to us. Giving an idea room to grow, seeing what people make of it, and finding new ways to be together along the way.
